Math 220-BioCalc
BioCalc is a calculus I section specifically created for life science majors. This course offers extra emphasis on the application of calculus to life sciences, e.g. population dynamic models.
Math290
Math290 is an extra 1 unit course that can be added along any C&M course. It purpose is to give you an extra credit for the fact that you are learning how to use the Mathematica software. You can take only once in your academic career (even if you take multiple C&M courses). Talk to your C&M instructor to see how the grade for it is formed.
In addition to the UIUC campus-based classes, we offer distance learning mathematics courses through NetMath.
C&M has brought to me something I thought I would never have-- a bit of understanding of the important relationships in mathematics. Some people (say in my [traditional] calc I class) were able to look at the texts and seem to understand, but I have been frustrated very many times by not being able to. I guess that's why I signed up for this class. I used to not like math. But I was just being a product of the way I was taught.
Techs support both the lab machines and the software used in this program.
