Joint C&M Class Assistant or NetMath Mentor Application

Class assistant applications are due by Thursday, April 15th

This is the joint application for the student assistant positions in the Calculus&Mathematica program and the NetMath program. In the Calculus&Mathematica program, student Class Assistants work closely with an instructor in planning classes and grading homeworks. NetMath Mentors help students by providing online help and grading homeworks and quizzes. All student assistants must be comfortable working with Mathematica code.

Starting salary for a Class Assistant or Mentor is $8.00/hour. Working as a Class Assistant or Mentor usually takes between five to eight hours per week. Appointments are for one semester. Currently, we are taking applications for this semester for NetMath mentors, and next semester for C&M class assistants.

Anyone who has taken one or more Calculus&Mathematica classes qualifies for the positions (CS 101, 110, and 257 do not count). All majors are welcome, and no particular technical skills are required. Current Class Assistants must reapply, but an essay is not required.

Please fill in all sections of this application as completely as possible. Please e-mail any questions or comments to lead@cm.math.uiuc.edu, or any technical questions to the Calculus&Mathematica technical staff, tech@cm.math.uiuc.edu.
